Semi-Rigid centralizers have flexible spring bows attached to two end-collars. The bows-spring form two equal-length bows between the end rings. Unlike welded centralizers, the bows in this type are attached without welding, offering flexibility and facilitating assembly and disassembly.
When semi-rigid centralizers experience sufficient load the two equal-length bows flex inwards until the bows contact, and is supported, by the casing. At this point the semi-rigid centralizers behave as rigid centralizers.
